BUT, they had become very loose in the IM products they were allowing to be sold through their site. In the last year or so, I have found so much crap on Clickbank relating to IM. Secret Russians, broke pole dancers, drunk gurus, massive passive that will only sell 197 copies… These products are scams and do not deliver anything like they promise and I was becoming a bit disillusioned with Clickbank simply because it allowed this rubbish to dominate its most popular products. Embarrassing for me and Clickbank.
Very good review on ClickBank. Over the years, I’ve bought a few products, in a few different categories, from ClickBank affiliates. Some of the products were really good but, as you said, there are bad ones out there. Fortunately, I hadn’t purchased a product through ClickBank that was so bad that I wanted to request a refund but there were a couple that I wouldn’t have purchased had I known better.
My advice is this – learn as much as you can about selling Clickbank products and promote the products you use and believe in. An honest recommendation based on your experience is always the best way to sell things online, especially if you are promoting products to your own mailing list.
I’ve had multiple bad experiences with clickbank. Shortly after my affiliate account started to really pick up steam in 2016, I hit login issues and assumed their site was having problems. However the next time I was unable to login, I finally contacted customer support. They told me my account had been flagged for removal. Upon review, they found their automated system had failed and my account was a victim.
Yeah, anybody promoting a Clickbank product (or well, ANY product for that matter) should do thorough research to make sure it is up to par and something they feel comfortable recommending. I think 2 different forms of payment just means at least 2 different credit cards, debit cards, or paypal accounts (or a combination of any). Basically so they know the products were purchased by more than one person.

ClickBank is legitimate, but always thoroughly research your products and to be successful it will take a lot of hard work. I would suggest getting some online internet marketing training and aim to set up your business for long-term success.
Succeeding or failing as an affiliate marketer can often be traced back to the products you choose to promote. At first, selecting a product to promote seems simple enough. You sign up with ClickBank and choose from any of the thousands of products available from over 12,000 vendors, then create a HopLink and slap it on your website – done!

Whenever I get around to writing an ebook I will use paypal and sell from my own website. You can advertise your own site I think from classified ads inside E-bay and also link from inside your ebay store. Then just promote your site as normal getting backlinks etc
What exactly is Clickbank? I went to their website to research them after hearing a lot about promoting Clickbank products and I honestly was not too impressed. I thought anyone new and looking to learn about Clickbank, would not have their questions quickly answered, especially on becoming an affiliate or reseller.

ClickBank allows each vendor to determine the appropriate return, replacement and cancellation policy for its products. It also provides a refund policy. If the vendors or users are not satisfied and not choose right platform than you can raise the refund request hassle free. The customers can request for return after expiration of the return period set forth in vendor return policy to technical support and customer assistant. vendor may request a return on the behalf of customers of any purchase up to 90 days after the date of purchase of customer. If the request is accepted or approved by clickbank then money is refunded back to customers.
I agree that No, Clickbank is not a scam. Scammers may use it.. but if ClickBank sees this… they shut those people down quick. They seem to be getting more proactive about shady fake hype products and I applaud that.
If you have some knowledge or expertise that can benefit others you could create your own product, becoming an affiliate is not your only choice with Clickbank. Have your own product on CB and you will benefit from the skills of their thousands of affiliates.
I in the process of ordering a book from Fat Diminisher. I tried to go to check out but a page came up pushing 2 more of their books. I was not interested and tried to go to the check out page. The page I was on froze. Mind you, they had gotten my card information so they had the money and the only way to get out of the page was to go back to my app page. So they got my money but not my address. I have tried and tried to get a response from Clickbank but every time I go to their refund page it freezes. Every time! Anyway you try to get to them regarding a refund the page will freeze on you!
Great article and I commend you for shedding light on this subject. I don’t think CB is a scam, but that weird Customer Distribution Requirement where you have to make 5 different sales from 5 different cards blah blah blah before you get paid is some BS to me. It really makes it hard for a new affiliate there to get started with them. It’s almost like they want to push people away instead of helping folks get paid and happy faster!

My purchase arrived in the time stated but was defective. So I sent a email about my problem they told me sorry “We are not the manufacturer. You can contact the manufacturer directly and let them know and they will be more than happy to help you out.” So much for customer service??? Glad all retailers don’t have that attitude because they wouldn’t be in business very long… Customer service is a word they must not know. So if your purchase is not defective you should be happy. If not roll the dice and see what happens. I cannot recommend Clickbank.
I have extensive experience with Clickbank from both sides of the spectrum; I’ve purchased a lot of products, and I have promoted as an affiliate. I have even worked for a business that sells a lot of its own products through CB, and helped a family member to sell their own product as well. Although I’m not a legendary, God-tier super affiliate, I nonetheless think I’m fairly qualified to answer the question of whether or not Clickbank is legit.
