Check thoroughly for product reviews before you buy. Just head over to Google and type in the name of the product + “review”. When researching Clickbank products that I’m interested in purchasing myself, I tend to look at reviews on forums and discussion boards as they tend to be most honest. Unfortunately, most CB products suffer the fate of having overzealous affiliates slap up copy-and-paste “reviews” that are just swiped from the affiliate resources section of the vendor site. Search for any popular product, and you’ll pretty quickly learn what I mean. I’ve got years of experience sorting genuine reviews from bad ones; if you are really keen on a product and not sure if the reviews you are reading are legit, then feel free to contact me and I can take a look for you. I always have time to help my readers, no exceptions.
At the risk of repeating other bullet points, I’ll reiterate that most visitors will know that your ‘review’ website is also an affiliate website that’s trying to sell to them. Be upfront about it, announce it to your guests, and thank them for their interest and willingness to help you succeed in your endeavor.
60 Day Return Policy – Clickbank offers a 60 day return policy on all it’s products inside it’s marketplace, which is to generous in my opinion. Good for the buyer of the product because they are protected, but it can be bad for the affiliate promoting the product because some people take advantage of Clickbanks generous return policy. If you are trying to promote a product in the ebusiness – emarketing category better known as the internet marketing – make money online niche your refunds could be high due to internet marketers taking advantage of this policy and trying to get products for free basically. Sometimes the product is low quality, and it would constitute a refund. But most of the time it is just marketers taking advantage of the system and trying to get something for free.
To sum it up, you pick a good niche (topic), create a website about it, add good content, a good product, drive traffic and make sales. Obviously, like many good things in life, success will only be achieved by hard work and patience, but it is doable without breaking the bank.
Would be better to learn website development, prior to anything else Bill. Your own website will enable you to do many things and it will be your “online space” where people can find you or your ideas.
I too have had a foray into clickbank. It is great but probably the only drawback I’ve had with it is that its extremely competitive as it seems to always be promoted to folks starting out with affiliate marketing.
Just like anything else trial and error. You’ll make more mistakes but you’ll learn from them. I was making about $500 / month pretty consistently for a year until I had a few things happen and had to sell off my websites (which is also a pretty good way to cash out if needed). Now after about a year out, I’ve decided to jump back in. You aren’t getting a lot of responses to this on here because honestly Digital Forum isn’t the best/most active site for Clickbank vendors/affiliates. Try the Warrior forum, you may get a better response there.
Thanks for the feedback leslie. Sometimes there will be a small print somewhere saying there is an ongoing payment. I haven’t seen about this flashlight thing, I will have to check it out. Make sure you contact Clickbank direct, they are pretty good at refunding and so on, in my experience. Thanks for the comment!
I HATE CLICKBANK BECAUSE IT CHARGES VAT/ TVA/ BTW, value added tax, which is illegal! For when I purchase from the USAetc. my country does not deserve to be payed Value Added Tax. And Clickbank is the traitor who takes my money to give it to the worst enemy of the people: our governments. They all deserve hell fro their crimes against humanity!
And what type of prep do you beforehand? Do you guys do a ton of keyword research, determine your USP, figure out all the content you’re going to post and when? HOw fast do you uusally get these up and running?
My purchase arrived in the time stated but was defective. So I sent a email about my problem they told me sorry “We are not the manufacturer. You can contact the manufacturer directly and let them know and they will be more than happy to help you out.” So much for customer service??? Glad all retailers don’t have that attitude because they wouldn’t be in business very long… Customer service is a word they must not know. So if your purchase is not defective you should be happy. If not roll the dice and see what happens. I cannot recommend Clickbank.
The direct deposit method is recommended if your country is accepted, the money is credited to your account in 2 – 4 days. Checks are only valid 90 days and will take a few days to arrive. Wired payments cost $35 per wire sent and are only available for accounts with sufficient volume.
people who visited the site but did not opt in > you can use negative audiences for your ads with facebook ads, you just take visitors to the site and substract the people that visited the thank you page. For people who did not purchase, you simply can’t with affiliate marketing unless the vendor adds a conversion pixel of yours on their thank you page.
Income verification also offers clickbank a fall back position if a company or a product needs to be removed for false advertising. Basic standards and ethics rules could be evenly applied to all parties as well as some manner of dispute resolution process.
I should also say that once you have met the requirement of five sales from five different credit cards, Clickbank is pretty good about cutting you checks as soon as the pay period ends (assuming you have met the base amount).
Affiliates – In this section of CBU, you will learn how to become an Affiliate Marketer and make commissions by promoting other people’s ClickBank products. This section includes the following modules: Building a squeeze page, List building, managing your list and driving targeted traffic, capturing emails, video promoting and so forth.
I think your conversions are really going to depend on a variety of things here – including the quality of the product and the quality of the sales page. I don’t think YouTube is the best place to directly link to a sales video – if that’s what you’re doing. It’s a softer sale if it’s from a youtube video, linking to a review on your blog and then on to Clickbank…. or something along those lines. People don’t buy from people they don’t know or trust, (generally). So, your conversions will be very low if you’re getting first time visitors land on your YouTube video and then checking out the product. They will probably then check out several reviews and other YouTube videos etc… If they click on someone else’s affiliate link after yours, then you will lose the sale. You can trust clickbank to pay you, (in my experience so far). You don’t need to worry about the vendors, because the affiliate link you generate is through Clickbank and they’re the ones processing the sales. Vendors can choose to block affiliates though, if they’re promoting the products against their T&C’s… I don’t know if they inform you about that when they do, or not! Hope that helps, Nat.
Avg %/sale: This figure is the average commission rate earned on all sales of the vendor’s products, this includes one-time purchases, recurring billing and upsells. Again this is an average, the amount you earn on a sale will probably not match this figure.
FYI: I would not recommend, Plimus. I just had a horrible experience with them through one of the programs that I promote. I typically receive payment directly to Alertpay, though when they were changing credit card processors, I had to use the Plimus option through this company. They have held our money for months stating that they have an investigation processes for the 1st month that a vendor is with them … meanwhile, the company I represent has been with them since Oct 2008 and has had very few charge backs and no problems.
An example of this would be www.examplesite.com/?hop=yournickname. Instead, you must use the HopLink format ending in hop.clickbank.net so the Hop can be tracked correctly, ensuring you receive affiliate credit on the sale.
Yes Cathy, there is certainly a large choice of products in the marketplace and finding a good product to promote can take some time. I agree with you that the best way to start with ClickBank is when you have your own website already up and running. It would be good if they offered some free training for their affiliates although I don’t think they could provide a better training platform than Wealthy Affiliate.

I have to admit, I haven’t been impressed by the products I’ve seen at ClickBank. The company itself seems OK; I can’t speak about payments since I’ve never managed to sell anything from them (even though I’ve tried). They *have* been good about processing refunds for me, most recently when I didn’t receive a response from the merchant after three email attempts. But I haven’t found any products there that I’d want to promote, for lots of reasons: almost everything is an ebook, a lot of sales pages are poorly done (some don’t even have prices!), some product ideas are just ridiculous, many products are way overpriced (maybe to support those huge commissions), and the site seems to be dominated by internet marketing products (which is not an area I, as a newbie, want to venture into). And then there are merchants like the one I just mentioned. I realize these things aren’t CB’s fault. But it is frustrating. I think CB would be easy to work with. I just wish I could find something I thought was worth promoting there, that *isn’t* an IM product.
this site is absolute scam dont ever expect your getting your refund after purchased all Biased ” ClickBank.com ” an absolute scam no refunds guaranteed so be careful when they say you can get a refund, dont ever mess with these people.
You probably have observed another XFT Football Speed System Review but none of them shows you that XFT Football Speed System SCAM or certainly not!. In our Unbiased and Honest one, could tell you how C.J. Easter put a lot of things about AdWords Miracle Guide that suite for your need… Get look the information […]
I am absolutely new to the whole online marketing thing. I visited CB in 2012, then, it appeared overwhelming so I put it on the back burner. A week ago I revisited CB and ran two campaigns without a website nor blog . I went to Fiverr and had traffic directed to my CB ad. At this point, I’m just waiting to see if anything converts. I jumped in without knowing too much of what I was doing… I needed to take some type of action.
In the end learning how to sell on ClickBank is a great way to promote your product. If you haven’t signed up yet go ahead and sign up. You worked hard on it, you put a lot of effort in to it, now sit back and let ClickBank’s Affiliates do hard promotion work for you.
If you are ever contemplating the purchase of a Clickbank product, there are some other things to keep in mind. First of all, as with most things, if it seems too good to be true, it often is. Sign in to Clickbank and find the product in the Clickbank marketplace.
Clickbank is such a huge market place with both good and really bad products all mixed together, unfortunately it is a struggle to find such programs. The best they cover, are the stats below each product to give you an idea how popular a program is and the average sale that one can expect to make.
ClickBank Marketplace is a collection of thousands of digital products. ClickBank does not own those products, ClickBank is simply an aggregator/payment processor. The products listed in the marketplace are created and owned by vendors – people that create and want to sell digital products.
For affiliates that want in-depth information regarding a vendor, ClickBank’s Marketplace Statistics is available for their use. This feature allows them to learn about a vendor’s sales, commissions, and category. In case the affiliate has already promoted a product or service from the vendor, this is displayed in their own dashboards.
And I like your recommendation about checking the products you promote first before marketing them. I think that’s an excellent tip, some affiliate marketers forget that the products they promote reflect on their website. So only affiliate with quality products is the key.
