Of course, by displaying the image cover of each product along with the product details, not only enhances the look and feel of your storefront/ ads but the chance of getting converted to a sale is also high!
This website contains recommendations for products and services. This means, if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive a commission. The majority of reviews does not contain affiliate links but some do. I also receive compensation for the banner ads on this website. I DO NOT receive any compensation for reviewing a product or service! I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will add value to my readers.
Next, I’m going to walk you through the information that’s in this box, because this is a lot of information in this little box and it can get overwhelming if you don’t know what all these terms mean. The first thing you want to pay attention to is the average amount of money per sale. This is not how much the product costs; this is how much an affiliate makes on average for one sale of that product. When you look at the stats line, this basically drills that down into a little bit more detail. The initial sale is $20.65. Why does this go all the way up to $26.80? That’s because there’s a re-bill feature. What that is, is basically they buy the product, and then there’s an add-on or another option for that person to sign up to some membership site, and that’s how much they make on average from the re-bill. If you average everything together, this is how much the affiliate makes with everything considered.
If you already have an affiliate account you’ll remember that it is free to sign up as an affiliate, but as a publisher ClickBank does charge you a one-time fee of $49.95. While I know most people look to avoid fees wherever possible this is just a cost of doing business and there really is no way around it. In the grand scheme of things, being able to promote your product on ClickBank with its Millions of Affiliates, $49.95 and $1 + 7.5% from each sale is just a drop in the bucket.
ClickBank doesn’t need to give you approval for where you do your advertising – that side of the business is strictly up to you. I’d say that, as long as you’re following YouTube and Instagram’s terms and conditions, you can go for it.
And what type of prep do you beforehand? Do you guys do a ton of keyword research, determine your USP, figure out all the content you’re going to post and when? HOw fast do you uusally get these up and running?
I like Clickbank for a lot of different reasons but I do have to say they do not check out their vendors or the products nearly enough. As for my opinion on IM vendors I dislike the majority of them because I think OTOs is deceptive selling, very close to bait and switch, and now they have this timer thing which is utterly demeaning, and here is one that really gets me, is that they have a product that they are trying to sell and they present it Friday evening and then you have til’ midnight Sunday night to make a decision. I can’t tell you how many of these IM vendors I have blistered on that alone. I really do not understand or fathom why we have to get an email every single day from an IM vendor. It’s like parents who continually yell at their kids, eventually the kids don’t even hear them, and eventually, at least from my point of view, I just don’t have the time to read everything that is being sent to me, and why?? Because it is overwhelming. I can’t even digest what was sent to me the first day, when I am faced with something the second, third, fourth, fifth day, and suddenly I am overwhelmed and behind, and my is overloaded. This is not fun, in fact it is flat out stressful.
Getting started with a new site just to find out Clickbank will nickel and dime you to death will deter a lot of people. Until you start to get good traffic for some purchases, Clickbank is not a great way to start to make any money.
But none of the reasons would make them a scam company nor are they themselves scammers. Some of their vendors, yes, they are scammers and should not allowed to sell on clickbank. But clickbank itself is not a scammer company.
Excellent replies to a somewhat ‘disturbed individual’ who appears to have much bigger problems than little old ‘Clickbank’ !!!! Quite sad really. I’m sure there’s more appropriate forums available that would help you address what ever issues seem to be dominating your somewhat pathetic life. This- my friend – is NOT one of those forums. Good luck and Gods’ speed !!
Very true words spoken above! I am UK based and there are some decent products on clickbank I would like to promote, however, having just logged back in after a brief absence, have found that the small amount of commission I earned has been eaten up by clickbanks dormant account charges, also never an email to say “You Got Funds” ! They say you can only have direct deposit account after you have made 5 different sales for different products!, and then only after your check has been sent to you and deposited in your account,! They provide no proof of postage or email that a cheque has ever been sent, or is going to be sent and who are you to be able to say that they didn’t send it, or it was not received….so when the imaginary cheque arrives..five times and clears..you then can have a real account, but there does not appear to be any way of tracking your hits or sales and most of the products for sale are with landing pages that redirect and want the potential customer to purchase a bigger package or register their email for the next big thing that you have no control over what so ever give them your bank details and begin promoting their products spending £100’s of pounds and getting hits,..but only to find that the customer has been redirected via an email link, that you can’t track ! I really think you will find that the very vast majority of products for sale actually are commissioned by the owners of clickbank, and thrives on the gullibility of new-comers and the honest intentions of most of us genuine people trying to sell a product to enhance our lives and other peoples lives, not just to line the pockets of these unscrupulous con men under the umbrella of paypal, I hope that their dubious practice is exposed before too long and that someone in the UK will develop the same type of program, and also that Paypal will listen to the complaints that should ALL be registered ..no matter how insignificant they may seem…so I lost about £34.. big deal..but even if you times that by a few thousand, it is still a lot of money. I like your website and please excuse my ramblings! John http://www.goldwriters.com
It is my observation that it is not Clickbank that is a scam but some of the vendors selling on Clickbank who try to scam us. The problems I have had were attritutable to the vendors. What are these annoying problems? Well, the upsells really annoy and sometimes anger me. It’s not just the $37.00 items that claim you have everything you need and then overwhelm you with upsells, but sometimes the much more expensive ones as well. If I find the upsells too numerous or the wording indicating that I really needs the upsells to do well, I usually ask for a refund quickly. One very annoying thing is to have the sales page proclaim that you do not need a website and then–when you try to access your purchase–to find step 1 or 2 to be that you need to set up the “free website” they are offering. Well, the website being pushed lately seems to be Brain Host, and the “free website” costs big bucks for a domain name and hosting. Hardly “free” in my opinion. Again, if this happens to me, I quickly ask for a refund. The other problem one must watch for is the vendor closing your refund request ticket WITHOUT giving you a refund. If that happens (and it has happened to me several times), you need to go to the customer assistance link and explain to Clickbank what happened. My refund has always shown up very promptly! I lost a bunch of money to Clickbank because of their requirement for different sources of payment for products (Paypal doesn’t count) and their dormancy policy. Watch out for those rules so your account does not get sucked dry by them.

Everybody wants to immediately sign up with affiliate programs and place links and banners on their site because that is technically how you “make money”, but without anyone visiting your site it doesn’t matter and often times it ends up backfiring if you get kicked out a program for not making enough sales, or in the case of Clickbank, getting deducting commission funds.
I am a big fan of your site. I learnt a lot from you guys. I always wanted to earn some money from Clickbank but it is very for me as a beginner. As for beginner with limited budget, do you suggest us to choose one or two popular clickbank products in same niche and build a small website around it? Can it makes money?
Clickbank pays out commissions every two weeks. One of the great advantages of Clickbank is that you get to choose the payment threshold which can be set to as low as $10 – which means no waiting around for weeks because you were $1 below the threshold.
Very useful article. I don’t like a lot of the hype found on Click bank either. And your example of only promoting products that you can actually endorse and that support your site’s integrity is solid.
But there are many wonderful products in the Internet Marketing field that are promoted off Clickbank (and on Clickbank as well) so don’t sell yourself short by leaving the field just because a few bad apples are in the barrel. That would be a mistake in my view. The IM market can be wonderful if you approach it right.
It’s also a good idea to include a note about which product the HopLink corresponds to, and any additional details you want to remember about the product. ClickBank doesn’t store copies of HopLinks you’ve created, so if you want to have easy access to them for future promotions, you’ll need to store them yourself.
I know clickbank far back but never had any dealings with them. Right now I need to get back on track but there are numbers of challenges am facing because of my country. Could you please let me know if I can be a successful internet marketer despite those challenges such as pick up address required by clickbank and the likes. Am from Nigeria, Africa.
Hi there, I have been giving some serious consideration into putting some money and effort into ClickBank, but I have to admit that I am very hesitant. There is a lot of info and a lot of claims of income out there, and most of them seem like total BS.
Are you creating your product sales page or squeeze page on ClickBank? If so, I suggest you get in touch with their vendor support. They had a major update on their site late last year that should have improved the merchant tools on their site. I also recommend optimizing your video prior to uploading it.

I find this unsettling, as the Australian Dollar – in anyones language – is worth more today. These are rates that existed a year ago perhaps, but not today. It is also turning us away from Clickbank and a reliable source of products we can honestly represent on our sites.
okay, I signed up with Click Bank but am having a very hard time getting anywhere. Where do you get help? every link i click on wants more money for some other service. I am unemployed and tired of office politics. I have worked from home before as a medical transcriptionist, but that is out of date now. I wanted to make this work, but can’t keep handing out money when there isn’t any. I am going to starve waiting on the 12 weeks to start seeing any money come in. any suggestions? I am close to asking for a refund and unsubscribing from everything. I have read through all the e-mails and watched the videos trying to make sense. thanks for any advice.
Avg Rebill Total – This number represents the average total dollar value of a sale, including only rebill payments, to the affiliate who drives the sale. You can select this checkbox and enter criteria to search for products with an avg rebill total above a specified value, below a specified value, or between two values.
For any resolving any problems, Clickbank’s customer support can be contacted via phone, Mondays to Fridays, from 7:00AM – 6:00PM MST. Their support page also provides links where you can check your order status, get assistance with a download, or submit a refund request. You can also fill up an online form in order to get technical support. Finally, they also have an incredibly comprehensive Knowledgebase where you can learn all about Vendors, Affiliates, Account and more.
Not being sharable or linkable is a huge handicap in today’s social web. This means you will have to pay or produce all of your traffic and if you ever want to have a chance to show up in Google, you’ll have to spend hours doing tedious link building. Not fun, not scalable, not economical.
